Site FAQ

How the directory works

How current is the directory?

Details that can change carry a checked date. Providers, prices, programs and event dates are rechecked from the provider’s own page, an official register or council source. If a current fact cannot be confirmed, it is omitted or marked for the reader to check directly.

Does Hervey Bay Kids review or rank providers?

No. The site is a factual directory. It does not publish invented visits, ratings, school rankings or recommendations about quality.

Are school catchments guaranteed?

No. State-school catchments can change and eligibility depends on the exact address. Each school page points families to the Queensland Government’s EdMap service for the current boundary.

Does a childcare page mean the service has vacancies?

No. Vacancies change too quickly to claim. The directory links to the service or official register so families can enquire directly.

How are age bands used?

Every activity provider is tagged for babies and toddlers, primary age, tweens and teens, or more than one band. The 10–11 overlap is intentional because suitability varies by program.

Can a business correct a free listing?

Yes. Factual corrections are free and still need a current provider or official source.

Will paid listings rank ahead of everyone else?

A future enhanced listing, sponsor or paid event promotion may receive clearly labelled placement. Payment does not buy a review, unsupported claim or editorial ranking.

Does the site collect personal data?

There are no accounts or newsletter at launch. The listing contact link opens the visitor’s email app. GA4 is planned for launch but remains off until the owner supplies the Measurement ID; the privacy page will be updated when it is enabled.
